Also known as Piper Methysticum, or "kava kava", this plant is an ancient crop grown in the South Pacific. Kava is ground into a fine powder and steeped, or dissolved, in liquid to create an earthy-tasting, non-alcoholic beverage. Promoting a sense of calm and well-being, Kava has been used for hundreds of years in social and ceremonial settings throughout the cultures of Polynesia.

While Kava is not a narcotic, it has been scientifically proven to reduce mild anxiety and relax the body without affecting mental clarity. Chronic Town serves Kava in traditional coconut shell cups a tea, or added to fruit juice or lemonade, or even mixed into any of our organic smoothies.
